About Me

Kathy Scott Profile:
Kathy has attended Calvary of Albuquerque since 1984. She graduated from Calvary of Albuquerque's School of Ministry in May 2008. Kathy is a physical therapist and participated in a Global Adventures short-term medical mission trip to Kosova in October 2006. During this trip, she had the opportunity to assist national physical therapists, physical therapy students, and hospital staff. Kathy made a follow-up trip to Kosova in May 2007, to teach university physical therapy students and hospital staff. It was following the second trip that she became aware of the Lord’s calling for her to return to Kosova for long-term missions work. Kathy moved to Prishtina, Kosova to begin the adventure in August of 2008.
In October of 2009, God opened the door for Kathy to move from Prishtina to Malishevë located in central Kosova; to become a part of that community instead of a once-a-week visitor. The fourteen months Kathy lived in Prishtina and served with CC Prishtina was a time of preparation for the work the Lord has for her in Malishevë. Kathy is now a part of the fellowship Bashkësia e Malishevës in Malishevë. Randy Harvey is the pastor, originally from CC Murrieta.
Ministry Description:
Physical Therapy outreach: Kathy began treating patients at the health center in Malishevë, in April 2009.   Through an interpreter she was able to see about10-12 patients each Monday. Beginning in December 2009, there was a need to treat more patients and the health center in Malishevë agreed to let her see patients an additional day each week. In January of 2011 Kathy began treating patients without an interpreter, a huge step in building relationships with her patients. In September of 2011, the health center no longer had room for Kathy to treat patients, due to expansion of their staff and services to the community of Malishevë.

In October, Kathy  signed a lease for a small room in a local market area for a private clinic.  God provided the funds for the rent and the work needed on the room, as well as the furnishings for the room. She now is treating patients M-W-F mornings for 4.5 hours each day.  She continues to offer her services free of charge.

Kathy was able to purchase a vehicle in June 2011, which allows her to travel to the neighboring villages around Malishevë as well as in other cities of Kosova.  Two afternoons a week she visits patients in their homes that are not able to travel to the health center due to their disability. One or two days a month she also travels to other cities, partnering with other missionaries to visit children with disabilities in their homes.

Kathy is also studying to complete her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She is studying through the Hardin-Simmons University transitional degree program.  Kathy plans to graduate with her DPT in December of 2012.
